Tasks & Farm Calendar

Barnsbook™'s task and calendar system keeps your farm schedule organized. Tasks can be created manually or generated automatically from health records, breeding dates, equipment maintenance, and other events across the app. The Farm Calendar shows everything in one unified view.

Creating Tasks

Access Tasks from More > Operations. Tap + to create a new task. Each task includes:

• Title — what needs to be done
• Due date — when the task should be completed
• Priority — low, medium, or high
• Assigned to — yourself or a team member (if you have a team on Premium)
• Notes — any additional context or instructions

Auto-Generated Tasks

Barnsbook automatically creates tasks based on events and due dates you've set elsewhere in the app. For example:

• A health record with a "next vaccination due" date creates a task on that date
• A breeding record creates a calving watch task near the expected due date
• An equipment maintenance schedule creates a service reminder task
• A weaning tracker entry creates a weaning date task

These auto-generated tasks appear in your task list and Dashboard action items, so nothing slips through the cracks.

Check your Dashboard action items every morning to see what needs attention today — vaccinations due, animals to check, equipment service, and more.

Farm Calendar

The Farm Calendar (More > Farm Management) displays all tasks, due dates, and events in a unified calendar view. You can see what's coming up across all areas — health, breeding, equipment, and any manual tasks you've created — in a single month or week view.

Calendar Integration Pro

With a Pro subscription, Barnsbook can sync events to your device's native Calendar app. Enable this in Settings > Calendar Settings. Once enabled, your farm tasks and events appear in Apple Calendar, Reminders, or any calendar app on your device alongside your personal schedule.

Notifications

Barnsbook sends push notifications for tasks and events as their due dates approach. Manage notification preferences from More > Notifications. You can control which categories of events send notifications and how far in advance — for example, 24 hours before a vaccination is due, or on the morning of a scheduled equipment service.
