Weight tracking

More → Weight Tracking shows the average weight, weigh-ins this month, herd average daily gain (ADG, in lbs/day), best performers and animals that need attention. Weights are in pounds.

Tap + Record Weight (or open an animal and tap Record Weight).

Pick the animal, enter the weight in pounds and the date, and add a note if you like.

Save. An animal needs two or more weights before BarnsBook can show its ADG.
  • Bulk Weigh-in: enter weights for many animals on one screen and leave blanks to skip.
  • A growth chart and weight history with the change between weigh-ins, weight projections toward a market weight, and species averages for reference.
  • Weights taken in a chute session are saved to the animal as well.

Milk production

For dairy animals, More → Milk Production records yield in gallons per animal and date, plus optional butterfat %, protein % and somatic cell count. It shows what was milked today, the average per animal, top producers by average daily yield, a daily production chart and the average quality numbers.

Production log

More → Production Tracking logs eggs, honey, wool, fiber, meat or any other product: type and name, quantity and unit, an optional quality grade, the source (a coop, hive or animal group) and the date.
